We are very excited to bring the Summer Park Program back for the summer of 2017. As it has been several years since the summer park program has been held, many of you may not know what it is. The summer park program is a structured program held in the Oreana Park during the month of June. We will have three staff members supervise and lead activities, games, crafts, free-play, and other fun in the sun.
The Summer Park program is held Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9am-Noon from June 5th through June 30th. Please CLICK HERE to view the daily schedule.
The Summer Park Program is designed for children ages 6-12, who have just completed Kindergarten through 5th grade. However, 4-5 year old children may also enjoy the program and are welcome to attend, as long as a parent or responsible sitter over the age of 12 attends with them, and provides supervision. Children under 6 years old will not be allowed to attend the program with a supervising adult or sitter with them at all times.
To offset the cost of the program (staff, supplies, etc), there is a fee of $15.00 per child. This fee is non-refundable, regardless of program attendance, etc. The fee includes a T-shirt, and participation in the program. Field trips will be announced during the first week or so of the program, and there will be additional cost to attend the field trips.
Registration will be held at the Whitmoore-Oreana Community Building at the Oreana Park. The registration dates and times are:
Tuesday May 23rd from 3pm-6pm
Friday May 26th from 10am-Noon
To save time, click here to download and complete the registration form. Bring the completed form, along with a check made out to the Village of Oreana to one of the above registration times. Registration forms will also be available at the above registration dates.
The field trip dates will be announced during the first week of the program. There will be an additional cost for field trips, and those cost will need to be paid before the field trip. Parents are required to attend the field trips with their child, as well as provide transportation to and from the field trip. On field trip days, there will be no supervision or events in the park.
In the event of severe weather, excessive heat, or other extreme weather, the park program may be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted on the Village Facebook page, as well as oreanail.com. We will also notify WAND-TV and WSOY-AM. Alerts will also be texted to parents who sign up for texting alerts. To sign up, all you have to do is text “PARKFUN” to 84483.
